With so many things to describe here, a list seems best!
- Optimize your content for search.
- Create/Edit content for search.
- Teach you how to use SEO techniques.
That list seems short, but that first one is most of what we do!
That means for the paragraphs that follow, a section for each topic above, this first part will be longest.
Optimize Your Content
Why such large text? That’s just one of many things search engines notice. This is the whole point of SEO – show the search engines what they need to know, so they will provide links to your web pages and/or blog content on the search results pages (SERPs) returned to browsers looking for a particular topic.
For the purpose of this discussion, let’s agree that a blog is also a website, albeit one that has a specialized purpose. Generally, the difference is that we expect a blog to be frequently updated, while we expect our web content to remain essentially the same, unless there are personnel, location, or business model changes that require updates on the web pages. From now on, when we say site or website, we also mean your blog.
Optimizing your content means that for each juicy (or even esoteric) search term or phrase on any of your pages or blog posts, we link that term to a page that has content about that term. In other words, if someone is searching for a word or phrase and your content contains that information, let’s get the search engines to provide that searching person a link to your site, so they can finish gathering that information on your website.
There are many things that can be changed to optimize your content for search. This is where things start to get technical, but hang in there, as we work toward simplifying the terminology. There will be a list following this text and that list will have links to other resources.
In order of preference, we use these things to optimize your content – Links, Titles, Headings, and the actual words on the pages. That last one may seem obvious, but position on the page does matter to search results. Look to the top of this page and you’ll see the phrase; “Optimize your content.” Because this phrase is near the top of the content, search engines give it more weight than the phrases they find down here. It’s kind of like what you do when you skim or scan a page – you read the first several lines to get the idea of what will follow.

Create/Edit content for search
This may seem obvious, but if you don’t have a blog, or web pages to optimize, we’ll have to work to create some content for you. Social Media is great for spreading the word about your content, but almost nothing beats actually having good content for your customers and clients! If you have no blog, Mouse Help SEO will help you get started with creating one. It’s quite easy to do and nearly essential to your overall success with SEO efforts.
Editing is that pedantic thing that must be done, for the sake of your readers. Your audience may abandon your page if they find many spelling, grammar, punctuation errors, or English syntax problems in your content. Call it proofreading if you like, but making things as close to perfect as possible is important. Mouse Help SEO has an eye for detail and will actually read every word you write, to make sure it’s right!
If you read SEO guides, you’ll find that content is King! All other elements are important, but in the end, your content must be relevant to the search terms people use when they search. There won’t be any “in other words” here, because that is that. Create good content to provide value to your audience.
Teach you how to use SEO techniques
This one is big! This is one of those value added things you hear about sometimes. We will actually show you how to “do-it-yourself”, once you grasp the basics. In fact, we will build a page specifically to show you how to do things for yourself on your own content. It’s a bit tedious and repetitious, so you may want to retain our services to do this for you. But, hey, if you have the time and the motivation to do your own thing, we will show you how to do it right.
That is all (or most of) what we do here, at Mouse Help SEO.
Please do establish contact and we will engage. We want to see you on page one of search results for whatever it is you have to offer. Let us make that come true for you.
